Velma Frances (Hollis) Brantley

June 16, 1928 ~ August 23, 2018 (age 90)

DUBLIN, GA

Velma Frances Brantley,90 entered into her heavenly home, Thursday morning, August 23, 2018. Mrs. Brantley was born in Bibb County, June 16, 1928 to the late James Wesley and Mary Jane “Tidwell” Hollis. Velma Frances Hollis was married to Beeman Custer Brantley April 21, 1946 in Macon, GA. Seventy two years have passed of their love and happiness together, God saw fit to call her dear Beeman home only 19 days ago where Velma can follow his footsteps to a land where time now holds no more.

Mrs. Brantley was a member of the Dixie Chapters of the Eastern Star in Macon for years. She was a member of the Daughters of the Revolution. She was employed with Prudential Life Insurance of Jacksonville, FL where she retired after 35 years of faithful service. She and her family moved to Dublin and was asked to take a job at Bethsaida Baptist Church where she served 3 1/2 years as the church secretary. Mrs. Brantley was a member of Bethsaida Baptist Church.

Mrs. Brantley is preceded in death by her husband Beeman Cluster Brantley; one sister, Anne LaVern Foster and husband, Tom Foster.

Funeral services will be held at Bethsaida Baptist Church at 2519 Hwy 80 West in Dublin on Saturday afternoon, August 25, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. Rev. Tom Harrison and Pastor Kevin Watkins, Great Grandson will officiate for the service. Rev. Brad Ball will officiate for the internment service for Mrs. Brantley in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.

Mrs. Brantley is survived by three children, Martha Regina Dollison of Dublin, Sandra Louise Thomas (Charles Edward) of Alachau, FL, and James Wesley Brantley (Maureen) of East Dublin; one sister, Patricia Francine Murray (John) of DeLand, FL, 10 grandchildren, 17 great- grand children, 24 great great-grand children, nephew, Tommy Foster (Rita), several other nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers to serve for Mrs. Brantley service are Kyle Watkins, Kaleb Watkins, Jason Page, Charles Brantley, James N. Brantley, and Rayce Foster.

Honorary Escort to serve are Tommy Foster, Tommy Craft, Mike Wolfe, and Shane Wolcott.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be given to Serenity Hospice of Dublin, 520 Hillcrest Parkway, Dublin, GA 31021.
