Betty (Thompson) Ward

October 28, 1932 ~ March 11, 2018 (age 85)



Betty Thompson Ward 85 of Adrian, passed away Sunday morning at Shamrock Nursing Home, March 11, 2018 after an extended illness. Mrs. Ward was born in Screven County GA October 28, 1932, to the late Wilbur and Mamie Hand Thompson. Mrs. Ward had lived in Johnson County for the passed 56 years, prior to that, she lived in Alamo, GA. Mrs. Ward was retired from Mohawk. She was a member of Orianna Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by two sons, Steve Allen Ward and Jeffery Eugene Ward; one daughter, Phyllis Elaine Ward; a daughter-n-law, Joyce Ward; two brothers, Ted Leggett and Earl Thompson; one sister, Marie Forehand.

Visitation will be held at Brantley Funeral Home, Tuesday afternoon, March 13, 2018 from 12 to 2 P.M.

Funeral services will be held the same day at 2:00 P.M. at Brantley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery. Rev. Arthur Conley will be the officiating minister.

Mrs. Ward is survived by her husband, Eugene Ward of Adrian; daughter-n-law, Jeanette Ward of Adrian; one brother, James Robert Thompson of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Genell (David) Park of Hinesville; one grandson, Russ (LuAnne) Cherry of Adrian; two great grandsons, Trey Cherry and Christopher Moorman of Adrian.

Pallbearers to serve at Mrs. Ward’s service will be Delmas Brown, W.L. Brown, Sandy Browning, Jerry Williams, Jack Williams, and Kenneth Foskey.
